Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
None is requiried, but your level of experience will affect the type of holiday we provide for you.
As involved as you would like to be. You can lie back and relax while we do all the work, or we can show you the ropes and you can be part of the crew.
We can introduce you to the basics as we are fully qualified to teach sailing, but we are not a sailing school so you will not leave with any qualifications.
After an initial evaluation, we can step down and enable you to enjoy sailing the boat, although we will aways to be on hand if needed.
For everyone's safety, the captain makes the final decision as to whether we sail or not. If there are no safety issues then you make the decision. There are plenty of alternative activites on available on land if you or the captain decide not to sail.
We recommend you bring sea sick tablets or travel bands even if you do not normally suffer from travel sickness. If you are suffering we can go to the nearest port or sheltered anchorage and make a group decision about the next step.
Drinking sensibly is fine. Bear in mind that you may be sailing the next day!
There are two fishing rods and a trawling line which can be used while moving, if the boat is not going too fast or once anchored. There are also several sets of snorkling equipment, which can be used when in safe anchorages.
Yes. If you would like a day on land, we have a range of information about the local area and great places to visit within a day's travel. We can arrange excersions for you or we can take you ourselves, whichever you prefer. Alternatively, we can also go on short trips to beautiful beaches, so you can spend the day at the beach.
This is totally dependant on you and the weather. Anywhere between 2-8 hours a day is usual.
If you go for an all inclusive package, day trip or overnight package there are no extra costs. If you would just like to hire the skippered boat you would need to pay for all extra costs such as marina fees, diesel, food, transfers and outboard fuel.
Whilst we cater for family holidays we would not recommend that you bring children under 5. There are childrens life jackets available. If you have specific concerns please feel free to contact us.
We recommend that you bring the following:
- towels
- sunglasses with lanyard
- suncream
- warm clothing such as a fleece or warm jumper, and long trousers
- waterproof jacket
- one soft bag such as rucksack or holdel as no suitcases can be taken on board.
- sun hat
- suitable footwear such as active sandles or deck shoes (high heels are not allowed)
- swimwear
- sea sickness tablets and any other medication you may need.
Cameras are welcome, but please remember the yacht may pitch and yaw considerably so we take no responsibility for loss or damage of valuables. We also have a digital camera on board, and can make our pictures available.
